Mayan Rain Gods ~ These funny faced mean looking fellows were in a case in a museum in Guatemala City.

Crafted from wood and covered with stucco, they stood only 16" tall

but gave the presence of being 16 feet tall.

The Estellas or designs behind them were decorations used over the windows

in Mayan dwellings as well as as road signs.
